Who is Joanna?

Joanna is a Creative Communicator from Toronto, Canada.

She believes that the Church has the most important message in the world, so for 15 years she’s been helping churches become the best communicators in the world.

She has studied marketing in France and theology in Israel. Joanna has sipped tea with the underground church in the Middle East and traveled by elephant between villages in the jungles of Thailand. She has befriended koalas in Australia, preached to the mafia in Ukraine, dined with the homeless on the streets of her hometown of Toronto, and lived in Romania just after their communist dictator was assassinated.

After completing a Bachelors in Communications and Business, Joanna began her career in the world of high-tech marketing and PR, before transitioning to church ministry. Her Masters in Theological Studies focused on how to use digital communication tools for evangelism and discipleship.

Joanna is the Bible teacher and a co-host on a nationally televised Christian talk show called “See Hear Lovein its 5th season, addressing diverse topics like Christian living, human trafficking, poverty, pop culture, and relationships.

She is invited to speak and preach regularly at churches, conferences, camps, and workshops. Her two podcasts: Word Made Digital and The Future Church, are listened to by thousands around the world every week.

As a consultant, she works with churches, nonprofits, and individuals to help with communication, strategy, branding, and digital content. Most recently, her primary focus was as the Creative Communications Director at Sanctus Church (formerly C4 Church), a multi-site church in the Toronto suburbs, where she worked from 2010-2019.

Joanna brings authenticity, creativity, and intelligence to the work of communicating things that matter. Whether speaking, writing, on television, podcasting, or consulting, she uses every platform as an opportunity to invite more people into meaningful conversations with just enough cheekiness to put audiences at ease.

She is a proud aunt to 12 nieces and nephews, a Board Member with InterServe Canada, an award-winning songwriter with Sanctus Church Worship (formerly C4 Worship), and an advisor to the Institute of Evangelism at Wycliffe College.
